Best Burn Practices

• Trim the wick to ¼ inch before each burn.
  
• During the first burn, allow the wax to melt completely to the edges of the vessel. This typically takes 2 to 4 hours and helps prevent tunneling.
  
• Burn your candle on a level, heat-resistant surface.
  
• Keep candles away from fans, open windows, and other drafts.
  
• Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains.
  

Candle Safety

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  
• Keep away from children, pets, and anything flammable.
  
• Leave at least 12 inches between burning candles.
  
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
  
• If the flame becomes too high or begins to smoke, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick, and relight.
  
• Allow the container to cool completely before moving.
  

Troubleshooting

Tunneling

If wax remains around the edges, continue burning until a full melt pool develops. For severe tunneling, create a loose foil "chimney" around the top of the candle and burn until the surface becomes level.

Soot or Smoke

Trim the wick to ¼ inch and keep the candle away from drafts.

Flame Too High or Flickering

Extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick, and relight. Check for nearby drafts.

Weak Fragrance Throw

Allow the candle to reach a full melt pool before extinguishing. For the strongest fragrance experience, burn your candle in a smaller room, as larger spaces naturally disperse scent.

Frosting or Slight Color Changes

Frosting and slight color variations are natural characteristics of 100% soy wax and do not affect the performance or quality of your candle.

Wick Won't Stay Lit

Trim the wick, remove any debris from the wax, and make sure the candle is burning on a level surface.

Reuse Your Camp Tin

Our ½ Pint and Pint Camp Tins are designed to be enjoyed long after the last burn. Once your candle has completely cooled and only ½ inch of wax remains, wash the tin with warm, soapy water and reuse it for camping essentials, matches, first aid supplies, keepsakes, trail treasures, or other small items. It's one more way we strive to create products that are as practical as they are beautiful.
